Introduction/Overview

 

Beans, peas as we call it in Jamaica. We have all kinds of beans/peas and its pretty much cooked a different way. We don’t really have black beans though, its typically red beans which is used for the famous stew peas and rice. This recipe though is black beans without red meat, but with some fried bacon.

Ingredients

  • Herbs
  • garlic
  • sugar
  • a little coconut milk
  • butter
  • fried bacon
  • ginger
  • Basil
  • Dill
  • Oregano
  • Parsley
  • Rosemary
  • Thyme
  • Hot Pepper
  • seasoning salt

Method

  1. soak overnight with garlic, salt and a teaspoon of sugar, ginger
  2. add remaining herbs
  3. add butter once its boiled
